Who can submit to the Tiga Mata Open Call?

Both amateur and professional photographers, including photo-related artists, who are nationals of Southeast Asian countries—Malaysia, Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam are invited to submit.

Tiga Mata is a bi-annual zine published by Zontiga (The Next Level Sdn Bhd).

No. Submissions are free of charge.

We accept photography-driven work in all formats, including film, digital, and alternative processes such as cyanotype, chemigram, and photography-based mixed media. All submissions must be made digitally via the Tiga Mata Submission Form.

Fully AI-generated images are not accepted.

Both single images and projects (multiple images in a series) are accepted. Due to space limitations, not all images from a project may be published. Final selection is subject to editorial curation.

Each submitter may submit a maximum of 10 images.

Please refer to the submission form for detailed file specifications, naming conventions, and text or written material requirements.

Yes, in limited cases. Such submissions must clearly credit all sources, explain their context, and demonstrate a meaningful conceptual transformation. Original photographic authorship is prioritised.

AI-assisted work may be considered. However, submissions made entirely from AI-generated imagery will not be accepted. Full transparency regarding the use of AI tools is required.

The work must meaningfully engage with photography, its process, logic, materiality, history, or circulation. Even if the final outcome is experimental or hybrid in form.

No. The editor and Tiga Mata team provide curatorial framing only and do not alter submitted works.

Tiga Mata is an independent, self-funded publication. While we are unable to offer monetary compensation at this stage, selected contributors retain full authorship of their work and are credited accordingly.

No. All copyrights remain with the respective photographers or artists. By submitting, you grant Tiga Mata permission to publish your work in the zine, on our website, on social media, and for promotional purposes related to Tiga Mata.

No. Submissions must be made by the individual responsible for the work.

No. Fully AI-generated images are not accepted.
