Submission Guidelines

Submission Preparation

You may submit up to 5 photographs. Each submission must include the following text/written material:

  • Project statement
  • Explanation of process and intent
  • Disclosure of image sources (where applicable)
  • Parental or legal guardian consent (for submitters under 16)


Submissions that lack required materials or sufficient contextual information may not be reviewed.

Image Preparation

File format: JPG/JPEG
Colour space: sRGB
Dimensions: 3000 pixels at its widest/longest side

Maximum file size: 10MB per image

Notes:

  • Do not include watermarks, borders or signatures on the
submitted photos

  • Keep your original high-resolution files available, as these will be requested if your work is selected.
  • Any image(s) that fail to meet these conditions will not be considered for the selection process.

Image File Naming

Use lowercase and follow this format:

fullname.number.jpg

Example:
 john.doe.01.jpg
 john.doe.02.jpg
 john.doe.03.jpg

Text/Written Material

Include a short statement of approximately 100–200 words.

Tell us about the place, encounter or observation behind your photographs, what led you to make the work, and how it relates to Kota Sepi Kota Sunyi.

  • Format: Word (.doc / .docx) or PDF
  • File naming: fullname.filetype 


Example:
 john.doe.doc
 john.doe.pdf

File(s) Submission (ZIP Folder)

Compress all photographs and text/written material into one ZIP file.

  • ZIP file name: fullname.zip
  • Example: john.doe.zip

Ensure all files follow the required formats and naming conventions before submitting.

Age & Consent

You may only submit up to 5 images. Please ensure they are high resolution (minimum 3000px at its widest/longest side) and include your name in the file name. Please read our Submission Guidelines first.

The submission fee is RM 30. This fee supports the administration, curation and production of the project and exhibition. Payment does not guarantee selection.
